Jackson (Patrick Tracy) is born in Newburyport.

The is the son of Jonathan Jackson and his wife, Patrick Tracy Jackson arrives in Boston, goes into business with his brother-in-law, Francis Cabot Lowell, and builds a textile mill in 1813.* With others, Tracy organizes the Merrimac Manufacturing Company and Boston & Lowell Railroad, supervising construction of the latter in 1835.* He loses his fortune in the Panic of 1837, but goes on to serve on various boards and trusts. Tracy dies on August 27, 1867.
